The Control Systems Society is led by researchers and technology professionals who are at the center of respected control systems communities where readers and authors already come together.

Open Access

The broad mission of the OJ-CSYS is that of promoting open access to all control systems research and education publications, including software, and data. The journal is Gold Open Access, which means that the content is freely available to users or their institutions. This journal is 100% open access, which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or their institutions.

All articles are currently published under Creative Commons licenses, and the author retains copyright. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles published, or use them for any other lawful purpose, as long as proper attribution is given.

Open access is provided through the payment of an article processing charge (APC) paid after acceptance. APCs are often financed by an author's institution or the funder supporting their research. For specific information regarding APCs, and special offers, please see "Article Processing Charges (APCs)" section below.

Review Process

The articles in this journal are peer-reviewed in accordance with the requirements set forth in the IEEE Publication Services and Products Board Operations Manual. The articles in this journal are peer-reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers using a single-anonymous peer-review process, where the identities of the reviewers are not known to the authors, but the reviewers know the identities of the authors. Articles will be screened for plagiarism before acceptance.

See your library website for more details. As of 1 January 2024, the University of California will be ending open access publishing support through its agreement with IEEE. Funding for page charges will also end at that time, and UC authors who publish in IEEE journals will be responsible for covering the APCs.
